• The laboratory „Digital Communication Technique“ is part of the department „Electrical Engineering and Computer Science“ at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld, Germany.

• Head of the laboratory is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Günter Hirsch. Prof. Hirsch teaches several courses in the fields of signal processing and communication systems. The section teaching contains more details. A Linux based computer network is available in the lab to perform computer based practical experiments as part of the courses.

• Besides teaching some research work is done in the area of speech signal processing with a focus on automatic speech recognition.
